In aGREENment is using this website as a resource to help save the 150 acres
at Oakwood Country Club in South Euclid and Cleveland Heights, OH from
becoming something other than a green space.

Action Steps, or How you can help:
Please

1. Visit our Facebook Fan page and join. http://j.mp/144acres

2. Go to http://inagreenment.com/oakwood/oakwood_form
and fill out the form to tell us who you are so the steering committee
will have a database of supporters when we need people to make
    phone calls, share resources, etc.

3. Ask your friends to do the same.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. I’ve been test marketing this name for more than a year and it never fails to raise an eyebrow or
get some kind of positive reaction – usually it’s “Wow, I love it.”

2. It’s a single word that, simultaneously, represents all the various parts of the green movement.
It is immediately recognized as such by everyone who hears it.

3. It offers a strong and relevant uniting concept, necessary for a successful web concept -
a place to take a stand, be inspired and look to for help and answers to questions.

4.  It’s iconic. It transcends time and present circumstances because it speaks to and gives voice
to every individual right now and fifty years from now.

5. People like this word. It’s inclusive. It embraces you and invites you to embrace it, claim it as your own.

6. It goes to the very heart of the matter – changing the mindset. Individuals and families taking action,
taking control of one’s destiny to whatever degree we can. (See Bently article – Re: Buckminster Fuller’
philosophy of individual initiative)

7. It contains its own built-in motivating force. What can I agree to do?  There is an element of a bond
or a promise to voluntarily live greener.  Entering into a covenant - very strong.
Especially when it is a covenant with yourself.

8. I’ve spent twenty years in marketing and I believe this is one of the best, if not the best, branding opportunities I’ve ever seen.

9. It sounds good. “Welcome to inaGREENment. I’m your host, Barry Levan.  Today we’re going on a field trip with members of the environmental club at Douglas High School. Our first stop will be the LEED Certified Kit Carson Retirement Village in Gardnerville NV..."

For many the word “green” is fast becoming an overused cliché that runs the risk of causing eyes to glaze over in a “what’s the use” kind of stupor. While it may be true that the damage to this planet is more severe than can ever be truly rectified by our present efforts that is no reason not to be urgent anyway. The name “inagreenment” gives back the word’s importance and points to the need for sustained urgency.

inagreenment.com is the place to make your stand. It is an attitude and, at the same time it is the vehicle that offers a way to nurture and express one’s commitment to the healing of our planet. Since so much is embodied within the simple concept of “inagreenment” it possesses the unique ability to transcend the world of slogans to something far more enduring – something more like a philosophy.

If people are going to subscribe to such a philosophy there must be a strong support system developed to facilitate their sustained attraction and commitment. Since the idea, as embodied so beautifully in the name, is nothing less than a “new mindset,” a whole new way of thinking and acting, it’s important that this website be the best of its kind.
